First letter St. Peter (1 Pt 1:8-9)

Vincentian Reflection
While preparing for this reflection I found a secular Holiday song running in an endless loop in my thoughts. So, in this age of re-use, re-purpose, and re-cycle, I’ll without apologies to Andy Williams et. al. open with…
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
As Christians we give great attention to the Crucifixion, the fulfillment of the prophecy thereof, and of the perfection of the Paschal sacrifice. Yet the very foundation for our faith rests on the resurrection, the resurrection which we celebrate today and for the rest of the Easter season.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
This irrefutable truth, along with the subsequent Gift of the Holy Spirit, energized and empowered those present to build The Lord’s Church, the church to which we proudly belong.
This very same connection to Christ is present today, present in each one of us living our faith and serving our Savior.
I pray that I and all of us can use the joy of Easter and all that it represents to open our hearts and guide our efforts so that we are indeed manifesting God’s plan in our service to each other and to those among us in need.
